In the TV movie My Daughter Is Missing, Sara is the mother of a young woman Karissa (Sophie Robertson) who’s been kidnapped. Sara also happens to be a cyber-security expert who “uses every tool at her disposal” to find her daughter and rescue her from the criminals who are running a sex trade ring. When she confronts the abductors, she says, “Nobody owns my daughter,” and then slaps one of them across the face.
Sara is portrayed by Miranda Raison. Americans will recognize the British-born actress from her roles in the films My Week with Marilyn starring Michelle Williams (Vanessa) and Woody Allen’s Match Point starring Scarlett Johansson (Heather). Young fans of Thomas & Friends might recognize Raison’s voice as Thomas the Tank Engine’s friend Millie. My Daughter Is Missing premieres on Lifetime on June 25 at 8pm.
