Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence knows Maisie Williams‘ pain, as the 19-year-old Williams — most famous for her role on Game of Thrones — was victimized by salacious hackers who stole and reportedly posted topless photos of her online. Lawrence was similarly victimized — along with dozens of other celebrities — in what became known as the Fappening back in 2014. Besides the hack being a crime of theft and an invasion of privacy, Lawrence believes such actions need to be prosecuted as sex crimes.

As in Lawrence’s case, the Maisie Williams photos allegedly began their spread after being posted on reddit. When a similar thing happened to Lawrence, Ronda Rousey, Kaley Cuoco and more, Lawrence told Vanity Fair: “It is a sexual violation. It’s disgusting. The law needs to be changed, and we need to change. That’s why these Web sites are responsible. Just the fact that somebody can be sexually exploited and violated, and the first thought that crosses somebody’s mind is to make a profit from it. It’s so beyond me. I just can’t imagine being that detached from humanity. I can’t imagine being that thoughtless and careless and so empty inside.”
