In Season 3 of NFL: Undrafted, the cameras follow 29-year-old punter Swayze Waters of Jackson, Mississippi. He’s one of those rare football players who keeps getting chances to play in the National Football League.
The former UAB punter was signed by the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2009 (he was cut and then re-signed and then waived when the team signed Billy Cundiff). In 2010, he was signed by the Oakland Raiders (released in September). In 2011, he was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers (released in September). In 2012, he was signed by the Edmonton Eskimos (released in July) and then signed by the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL. While with the Argonauts, Waters was named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Special Teams Player in 2014. But Waters has made the decision to leave the CFL in order to pursue his dream to play in the NFL. In February 2016, Waters was signed by the Carolina Panthers but was waived in August. NFL: Undrafted which airs Tuesdays at 8pm.
