Musicality is the inner-city high school a cappella group from the south side of Chicago competing on Season 11 of America’s Got Talent. They are lead by their teacher Michael Gibson. After their performance during the Judge Cuts, everyone on stage got emotional. “The love you have for one another. It’s infectious,” said guest judge Louis Tomlinson.
AGT judge Mel B told the group: “I love what you stand for, I love what you do. I’m going to root for you.” When Simon Cowell asked Gibson what it would mean for them to win, the teacher replied: “It would mean that hope is alive for urban youth to be able to express themselves doing what they love.” Cowell echoed Mel B, saying: “I think you have to reward people who are willing to work hard. I think people will be rooting for you. And I will be rooting for you.” The Live Shows on America’s Got Talent begin Tuesday, July 26.
