Lori Mae Hernandez is the 13-year-old comedian who’s killing on Season 11 of America’s Got Talent. Her immense confidence and comfort on stage comes from her experience — she’s been doing standup for the past three years. And her ability to pursue her creativity and not get pigeonholed as just a comedian comes from the heart, one suspects. She’s a fount of creativity. Not only does Lori Mae have a YouTube Channel where she’ll make you laugh, she has already written and directed her first short film, My Soldier.
My Soldier is a 15-minute film about a little girl who helps her grandmother let go of the past, “with the help of a voice from the past.” (Actress/stuntwoman Luanne Crawford plays the grandma.) My Soldier was shown at the 2015 Indie Film Fest. America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
