The TV pilot Angel From Hell is about an odd woman named Amy (Jane Lynch, Glee) who meets a high-strung Beverly Hills dermatologist named Allison. Amy claims to be Allison’s guardian angel, so she insinsutes herself into Allison’s life and continues to offer advice whether it’s bad or good — and whether Allison likes it or not.
Allison is portrayed by Maggie Lawson. She’s best known for her roles on Two and a Half Men (Ms. McMartin), Psych (Juliet O’Hara), Back in the Game (Terry Gannon, Jr.), Crumbs (Andrea), It’s All Relative (Liz Stoddard-Banks), Party of Five (Alexa), and Family Rules (Hope Harrison). Fun fact about Lawson: She moved to Los Angeles when she was 17 to appear in the 1990s sitcom Unhappily Ever After. P.S. She’s married to actor Benjamin Koldyke (Paul Edley on Masters of Sex, Don Frank on How I Met Your Mother, Dale Tomasson on Big Love). Angel From Hell airs Thursdays at 9:30pm on CBS, after Mom.
