The San Antonio Spurs are 21-5 after pummeling the visiting Utah Jazz 118-81 in a game that was never close. Somewhat obscured by the Golden State Warriors eclipse, the Spurs are off to the second-best start in franchise history and they are undefeated at home. Individual point totals were insignificant in this one, as the Spurs starters didn’t see much time in the second half. Kawhi Leonard led with 22 points, but significantly LaMarcus Aldridge dominated early finishing with 18 points. The Spurs are just too much to handle with their textbook ball movement emphasizing the deep talent they feature at every position, even as they go deep into their reserves.
On defense San Antonio has limited teams to under 100 points in 13 of the last 14 games. Aldridge shot 6-10 from the field and 6-6 from the line. Leonard 7-10 from the field and also 6-6 from the line. Tony Parker, also with 18 points, shot 7-9 from the field.
