Bill Alverson is the star of TLC’s new reality TV show Coach Charming. By day, Bill is an attorney in the small town of Andalusia, Alabama. By night, he moonlights as a pageant coach. It’s his job to advise and mold young women into legitimate competitors, regardless of their innate singing or dancing abilities. Watching one developed young woman perform a tap-dance routine best suited for a child like Shirley Temple is not only painful to watch, it’s a bit disturbing. Luckily, Coach Bill doesn’t hold back and lets her know. “Keep your hands away from the party zone,” he tells the young woman as she waves her hands near her crotch.

Alverson has been practicing law since 1985. He currently runs the law firm of Alveson and Alverson with his son William who he calls his “best bud.” When not in court or in a tap-dance studio, the divorced dad Bill Alverson can be found spending time with his three children. In additon to William, there’s 15-year-old Stella, and Blanche, who was a star on the Auburn women’s basketball team and homecoming queen. Bill is definitely not your everyday lawyer or dad. In the series premiere of Coach Charming he insists that he and the kids take a new portrait but wants everyone to wear swimsuits. Coach Charming premieres Wednesday, November 4 at 10pm.
