Jeremy Lin started for the Charlotte Hornets alongside Kemba Walker in a lineup coach Steve Clifford predicted he’d use back when Lin first came to Charlotte. The result was a decisive Charlotte victory, though that had more to do with the Hornets opponent — the execrable Philadelphia 76ers (0-13) — and Hornets center Al Jefferson than Lin. Jefferson had 29 points and 10 rebounds against a lot of single-teaming by the Sixers on defense.
Lin played solidly, scoring 9 and committing zero turnovers. His presence also worked to free up Walker, who shot 7-12 for 20 points while dishing 7 assists in an efficient 34 minutes. For the second game in a row, Lin was on the floor for nearly 30 minutes. He made 3-8 field goal attempts and both his free throws. The Hornets led the entire game.
