Sydney Rhame is the 17-year-old from Decatur, Georgia on The Voice’s final round of Blind Auditions. She started writing music and lyrics at the age of 6. She started playing guitar at 7, and studied music theory by the age of 13. She’s opened for musical acts including Jamie Lynn Spears, Aaron Carter and Max Schneider. She’s been compared to Adele (guttural lyrics), Taylor Swift (songwriting), and Kelly Clarkson (vocal range and likeability).
Rhame is no typical teenage crooner. She’s a polished musician on stage and a visual artist on YouTube. Check out the video for her original “Jack Johnson.” It begins: “Found myself thinking of you today/ All your wise comments and your crooked smile/ saying that the world would be a better place with more Jack Johnson.” Her music is available here. The Voice airs Mondays at 8pm on NBC.
