Kaley Cuoco is best known as a comedic actress, with her great turn on 8 Simple Rules leading to The Big Bang Theory, a wildly successful series that made her one of the highest paid actresses in the world. But besides her comedic skill and Lucille Ball-like charm, Cuoco has dramatic acting chops too. Last year, Cuoco triggered some buzz when she cut her famous blonde mane. But the new do wasn’t just a new look for her Big Bang character Penny, it was for a leading role in the drama Burning Bodhi.
Burning Bodhi will make its world premiere on November 1 at the Austin Film Festival as this year’s “Centerpiece Film” according to the Burning Bodhi Facebook page. Written and directed by Matthew McDuffie, Burning Bodhi also stars Cody Horn, Landon Liboiron, Sasha Pieterse, Virginia Madsen, Eli Vargas and more. A Big Chill-like premise, Burning Bodhi examines the relationships between a group of friends after one of them dies.
