One of the Ladies of London, Caroline Stanbury, launched her own custom gift service company Gift Library. She had a team of 60 employees who would find, wrap and mail luxury gifts to people across the world. But when the business floundered and she couldn’t pay her startup loan, she said she wanted to talk to her investors about “how to fix all the mistakes.” At that time, Stanbury said “We’ve just bitten off way way way way more than we can chew.” Her investors didn’t like the sound of that.

In April, Stanbury was grilled by the media when Stanbury was posting photos of her and her fancy friends skiing while the company collapsed. Gift Library is no longer. Rival website Amara bought the website domain which redirects visitors to Amara, a successful home furnishings online store managed by Sam Hood and her husband Andrew, a former Lehman Brothers managing director. No other assets were sold. Ladies of London airs Mondays at 10pm on Bravo.
