FC Barcelona orchestrated a second half comeback after trailing 1-0 to Bayer Leverkusen. Playing without injured star forward Lionel Messi, Barcelona simply turned to another of its star forwards, Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan scored the game winner.
Barca dominated with 70% possession, according to the team website, which also said Barca completed 594 passes to the Leverkusen club’s 209. (The intimate Barca style usually sees them with a wide margin in completed passes even in closer matches.) Barca had 17 shots on goal Bayer Leverkusen, 9. The win puts FC Barcelona alone atop the Group E standings in the Champions League.
