Willie Geist and Tamron Hall are emceeing New York’s 39th annual fireworks display on NBC (coverage begins at 8pm). Country’s Dierks Bentley, Kelly Clarkson, Brad Paisley, rapper Flo Rida and All About That Bass hitmaker Meghan Trainor will perform live.
Geist is the 40-year-old co-anchor of MSNBC’s Morning Joe and NBC’s Today’s Take — the third hour of The Today Show. He’s also the co-author of The New York Times bestselling book Good Talk, Dad, which he wrote in 2014 with his father Bill Geist who was a New York Times columnist and CBS correspondent. Willie’s sister Libby is also in the TV biz. She’s a two-time Peabody Award-winning documentary film producer at ESPN. Willie is married to his high-school sweetheart, Christina Sharkey. They have two children, an 8-year-old daughter and five-year-old son.
