After touring with Lady Antebellum and Sam Hunt, the Young and In Love country singer Hunter Hayes will perform on the West Lawn of the US Capitol. During the televised celebration, ‘A Capitol Fourth,’ the 23-year-old will wow an audience of more than 300,000 on the Fourth of July.
According to Lansing State Journal, “Hayes’ grandmother gave him a toy accordion when he was 2; a real one followed.” When 5-years-old, Hayes played Jambalaya with Hank Williams, Jr. at the Texas Motor Speedway. And at 6, Hayes was an accordionist in the 1997 film The Apostle. Robert Duvall, the writer, director and star of the film, gave Hayes his first guitar.
