Hillary Clinton has been on the receiving end of Donald Trump in almost every way. Not only has Trump been unsparing about bashing the Democratic front runner, he’s also given Clinton money. (NYC-based Trump financially supported Clinton’s candidacy when she ran for Senate from New York.) So Hillary Clinton knows that Trump can be a help or a hindrance, depending on which way the wind is blowing.
Trump is currently busy taking shots mostly at people in his own party — which means Hillary has some distance from the fray. So she’s opted to take a lighter approach to her one-time supporter. At the Democratic Party Hall of Fame dinner in Iowa, in front of the safest audience possible, Clinton expressed heartfelt gratitude to Trump for one particular aspect of his candidacy: his hair. This is the first time, she said, that she’s run for office where another candidate’s hair gets more attention than hers.
