You think your life is a roller coaster ride? Try on Jeremy Lin’s Adidas sometime. Even for an NBA player, Lin’s last four years have been quite the journey. (One difference between Lin and some other top athletes is that Lin tends to be completely honest — no hero stuff.) So it’s no surprise that his recent return to blogging saw JLin confess to being “burnt out” after the difficult, unsatisfying season in LA. Lin also admitted he felt “lazy” about getting back into his training regimen.
But then, rejuvenated after a 3-week post-season layoff, Lin is back into the game and the gym. Motivation is an interesting thing. Lin says his motivation comes from God — and doubtless it does. But he also has to be motivated by practical scenarios around the league and his desire to find a spot to thrive. Lin writes: “I may not know where I’m going next, but I trust Who I’m following!!” When he’s doing that last sprint of the day — when he’s dead tired — is free agent Jeremy Lin thinking of a return to Houston, about Denver, even Golden State? Is he picturing running away from Byron Scott, just for extra speed?
