Dream Teamer, Hall of Famer and Utah Jazz legend John Stockton‘s 5’11” son David Stockton signed a contract that gives him a chance to stay with the Sacramento Kings through the 2015-16 season. A 165-pound guard, David Stockton had performed well in the D-League for the Reno Bighorns and was called up to the Kings on 10-day contract in late February.
Both Stocktons–father and son–played college ball at Gonzaga. The Kings will give David some time as the season winds down, and don’t be surprised if the Allen Iverson-sized guard scores some points. The Kings press release said Stockton “averaged 20.1 points (.461 FG%, .398 3pt%, .824 FT%), 4.2 rebounds, 9.4 assists, 2.5 steals and 30.5 minutes per game” in the D-League. Note: the team with the best record in the NBA, the Golden State Warriors, starts a backcourt featuring Steph Curry and Klay Thompson–whose fathers both played in the NBA. Get to know Stockton here.
