CeeLo Green is back on The Voice to help Blake Shelton mentor Team Blake. While rehearsing with country singer Corey Kent White, CeeLo told Blake and Corey that it would be cool if Corey pulled out a bouquet of roses. Blake and Corey laughed. When Blake asked CeeLo what he thought about the song later, CeeLo persisted, “I wanted him to do a magic trick so…don’t ask me.”
Shelton picked out the 1989 Bad English power ballad “When I See You Smile” for Corey to sing. Corey, who’s only 20 years old, had never heard it before. “I don’t want to say I am worried, but I’m not as comfortable about it as I usually am,” Corey told TulsaWorld. “I think it will be a risk for me, but at this point in the competition, you can’t play it safe. There are too many great artists left. You can’t just get by with a solid performance.” Maybe pulling out a bouquet of roses isn’t such a bad idea after all. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
