Jessica Westfeldt has been in the news recently for helping her longtime (since 1997) partner Jon Hamm find the help he needs. Hamm recently entered a rehab facility for alcoholism. It’s been long three years since we’ve seen Westfeldt on the big screen. While she occasionally takes on TV roles (Grey’s Anatomy, 24, and most recently Girls), she’s best known as a filmmaker. She’s written, directed and starred in three films — Kissing Jessica Stein, Ira and Abby, and the 2012 film Friends With Kids.
With Hamm, Westfeldt formed the production company Points West Pictures. The couple have several other projects in development and launched a Kickstarter campaign to produce the film Humor Abuse: The Documentary. It’s based on Lorenzo Pisoni’s life growing up in the Pickle Family Circus with a clown for a father. It will expand on father/son themes from Pisoni’s one-man show, Humor Abuse.
