Tiger Woods doesn’t spend a lot of time on Twitter. He’s tweeted just 400 times over the past 6 years, since he opened an account in 2009. So when he tweets something, it’s usually means he really does have something to say. This week, after withdrawing from Torrey Pines, he wrote “Back is good, game will be too.” With that message he’s reassuring his 4.24 million followers that his latest injury is not related to his previous surgery. “I’ll be back,” he wrote.
Tiger Woods is known for his laser-like focus–for being able to shut out the massive crowds around him long enough to make the winning putt. On Twitter, it’s no different. Woods follows just 19 people/companies. His girlfriend, Lindsey Vonn, is on the list as is his foundation, Nike, Stanford (his alma mater), and favorite professional teams like the LA Lakers, LA Dodgers, and New York Yankees. What’s interesting is he follows just two professional golfers — his old college friend Notah Begay III, and the LPGA’s Cheyenne Woods, his niece.
