Rapper Missy Elliott killed it at the Super Bowl half show with Katy Perry and Lenny Kravitz. The 43-year-old Elliott was diagnosed with Graves’ disease in 2008. And now, after several radiation treatments, medication and losing 70 pounds, she says she “feels better than ever.” And it shows. Lil’Will wrote: “if you didn’t like @MissyElliott performance unfollow me block me delete your twitter educate yourself read a book bake a cake hug your mom.” Mel Smith wrote: “We need a new album tough @MissyElliott! The world officially misses you.”
Not only did Missy Elliott shine on the Super Bowl Sunday stage but she’s shining light off-stage too. After learning the news of Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown being found unresponsive in her bathtub, Elliott tweeted “Still Praying 4 Bobbi Kristina I see sum ppl making jokes She lost her mom thats tougher than u may think 2 deal with.” Before that, she tweeted directly at Bobbi Kristina, “Sending Prayers for my lil sis @REALbkBrown for peace & healing…”
