Trying to explain his injuries to a Lakers fan base that got pretty hot at some Instagram video of Steve Nash swinging a golf club, Nash wrote an open letter to the fans. The list of his ailments “goes on somewhat comically” says the two-time NBA MVP. He lists a lot of them–not for sympathy but so he can “bring some clarity.”
Nash says he’s worked hard the last two years to come back–using a combination of “competitiveness, professionalism, naivete and hope.” Sure he can swing a golf club, but that’s not the same as keeping up with “Steph Curry and Kyrie Irving.” He tried to “lift up and inspire the fans in LA” but as Nash knows better than anyone–except maybe Mitch Kupchak and Kobe Bryant–“obviously it’s been a disaster.”
