Roger Federer saved four match points against the powerful fellow Swiss Stan Wawrinka to survive an extremely close semifinal, 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (8/6). The victory gives Federer a shot at world No. 1 Novak Djokovic in the final of the ATP Tour Finals. London’s O2 Arena was electric during that match.
Djokovic, on a quest to win his third straight Tour Finals, will be a difficult opponent. He has beaten Federer in the last three finals they played, including a five-set victory at Wimbledon which many consider one of the great matches of all time. Federer has won 19 of their 36 match-ups overall, but the latter half of the rivalry has favored the younger Djokovic. The ATP Tour Finals final is November 16 at 1:00 PM (ET).
