British singer-songwriter Ella Henderson was a favorite to win The X Factor in 2012 but she eventually lost to rocker James Arthur. It was considered by many, including the host Dermot O’Leary, as “one of the biggest upsets in the show’s history.” Celebrity divas including Adele, Lily Allen and Cher came out in support of Henderson after her defeat. The show’s creator Simon Cowell compensated for her loss by signing her to his Syco label.
After a year in the studio writing and recording, Henderson released her debut album, Chapter One. Her first single Ghost went straight to number one in the UK. This week, she’s flying to Los Angeles to make her debut on Dancing With the Stars, October 27 at 8pm on ABC.
