Hollywood star and fasionista Jessica Biel is investing in a good cause, her brother Justin. He’s the co-founder of BARE, maker of “an eco-conscious, socially responsible collection of bags made out of burlap coffee sacks.” Based in the Biel’s hometown of Denver, Colorado, BARE is making one-of-a-kind duffles, backpacks, totes and wallets. Biel proves that she cares just as much about the environment as she does fashion. She told Vogue: “We all grew up with the Flatiron mountains right behind us. If you had any brain at all, you would just look outside your window and go ‘Oh wow, this world is something that I want to protect.’”
Jessica Biel says she uses the BARE carryalls for travel and the Oaxaca duffle as her “set bag.” Maybe one will make its way onto the big screen. It would be the perfect prop in Biel’s latest film Shiva & May. Biel stars as May, a peaceful yoga instructor, who becomes protective of her newly discovered sister, Shiva, played by Girls’ Zosia Mamet.
