Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper first displayed their on-camera chemistry in Silver Linings Playbook, and then went on to co-star in the 1970s-era American Hustle. Lawrence won an Oscar for Silver Linings Playbook, Cooper is still waiting for his. And he just might get it for their third collaboration, Serena, based on the novel of the same name by Ron Rash.
To be released November 27, Serena is set in the Depression era in the hills of North Carolina. It’s love at first sight between Lawrence and Cooper and together they build a timber empire. But things–besides trees–fall when Serena finds out about her husband’s past (he has a son) and her inability to conceive. Secrets, lies, betrayal, explosions, murder, Serena has everything to offer an eager movie-going audience, just like Lawrence.
