Californian Douglas Ladore is suing Sony Computer Entertainment America for “deceptive marketing.” While playing Sony’s PlayStation 4 game Killzone: Shadow Fall, Ladore discovered that the game’s multiplayer mode does not run at the resolution advertised which was “1920 x 1080.” Ladore’s $5 million lawsuit claims Sony used “a technological shortcut,” running the multiplayer mode at “960 x 1080.”
If you don’t think one man in California can get Sony to admit to deceptive marketing or settle before it has to, you haven’t met Ladore’s lawyers – Edelson PC. The law firm has taken Sony to court before. Sony (and Electronic Arts) allegedly didn’t honor their promise to provide free copies of Battlefield 1943 to the thousands of gamers who bought Battlefield 3 in 2011. According to Edelson, “the case has been resolved.”
