On Thursday, September 4, Sunday Night Football (yes, a misnomer in this case) will kick off the 2014 NFL season with the Green Bay Packers taking on the Seattle Seahawks. Last time the two teams played each other was August 23, 2013. The Seahawks won 17-10.
Before the big game against the defending Super Bowl champions at CenturyLink Field, Green Bay fans hope the Packers pack up another offensive lineman–first-year pro Aaron Adams just tore his ACL and MCL. Green Bay is going to need all the help it can get. Even the NFL thinks it’s going to be blowout. According to a league source, “the NFL was wary of putting Seahawks home games on in prime-time due to their track record of blowouts in nationally televised games played in Seattle the last several seasons.” The last three times Seattle has hosted a prime-time match up, they hammered their opponents, which doesn’t make for great TV.
