A frozen 3-year-old Chicken McNugget belonging to an Iowa woman is for sale on Ebay. The nugget is said to resemble George Washington, the founding father, slave owner, war general, president and inveterate truth-teller whose visage is not otherwise hard to come by: it’s on the dollar bill. Proceeds from the winning bid will go to a local charity for kids, says the owner.
Eight years ago, Ebay facilitated the sale of a 10-year-old grilled cheese sandwich with a simulacrum of the Virgin Mary imprinted on it, for $28,000. The Internet casino that bought the virgin also planned to donate some of its expected earnings to charity, after taking the sandwich on world tour.
