The reboot of The Battle of the Network Stars is pitting actors who’ve played White House staffers against actors who’s played lawyers on TV. The lawyer team includes Catherine Bell (JAG) and Corbin Bernsen (LA Law), and the White House team includes three actors from The West Wing including Oscar winner Marlee Matlin (Children of a Lesser God).
Marlee Matlin, who lost her hearing when 18 months old, is known for her roles on Switched at Birth (Melody Bledsoe), The L Word (Jodi Lerner), My Name Is Earl (Ruby Whitlow), Picket Fences (Mayor Laurie Bey), and Reasonable Doubts (ADA Tess Kaufman), among others. She made her acting debut in the 1986 film Children of a Lesser God opposite William Hurt and won an Oscar for her performance. Battle of the Network Stars airs Thursdays at 9pm on ABC.
