Amy Schumer is killing it. That’s not just a fan’s opinion — it’s what they’re saying at the bank. Tucked in among a lot of familiar names — all men — on the recent Forbes list of highest paid comedians is Schumer, the lone lady in the upper echelon with an estimated take of $37.5 million in the year ending in June. Most of the names — Jerry Seinfeld tops the list with an estimated $69 million, accompanied by familiar comic names like Chris Rock, Louis C.K., Jim Gaffigan, Dave Chappelle, Kevin Hart — are feathering their massive nests with checks from Netflix. Schumer’s The Leather Special on Netflix puts her in this group too, and her endorsement deals with the likes of Bud Light don’t hurt her investment portfolio. Neither do her book sales — Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo has had serious staying power.

Forbes lists Schumer at #5 this year, down a peg from her #4 slot last year — but the only woman to make the top ten. Meanwhile Schumer is, like her uncle Chuck — the US Senator from New York — doing most of her tweeting about something she doesn’t think is funny at all: the healthcare proposals currently in the Senate.
