Little Big Shots host Steve Harvey will welcome the MacMaster Leahy Family on stage during the episode ‘The Snail Whisperer.’ The family of fiddlers and step dancers from Canada who range from 10 to 3 years old are the children of famous fiddlers Donnell Leahy and Natalie MacMaster who have been married for 14 years.
Natalie MacMaster tells the story of how she met 27-time Grammy Award-winning artist Alison Krauss in 1987, in the video below. They were in a violin workshop together. Natalie says of Alison: “I remember thinking, wow, she’s really good.” Natalie heard about Alison again when she was in teacher’s college. She heard a friend listening to Alison’s music and asked who the artist was. Natalie had no idea Alison could sing. “I was totally blown away.” Below Natalie performs with Alison as she sings her song “Get Me Through December” which is available on Amazon. Little Big Shots airs Sundays at 7pm and 8pm on NBC.
