Jeff Bezos captured even more attention than usual when the Amazon CEO donned a giant robot suit (see below) called the Method-2. The suit made Bezos look even larger than his fortune, his foresightedness, his massive company and his ambitions already do. That’s saying a lot. So who helped enlarge and empower Bezos in this case? It was a company called Hankook Mirae Technology — and the makers of the Method-2 are awesome. It’s hard to be declared the outright winner at Amazon’s super cool MARS conference in Palm Springs, but Hankook Mirae was the winner this year clearly — because Jeff Bezos in their robot suit. Nuff said.
The MARS is an exclusive conference focused on machine learning, home automation, space exploration and robotics — sometimes all at once. Hankook Mirae calls itself simply “People That Create ROBOTs.” One of those conceptual designers is Vitaly Bulgarov and you can learn more about him and the Method-2 here. Like Hankook Mirae, Bulgarov works in both the entertainment business — LucasFilm’s Industrial Light&Magic and Dreamworks, for example — and in very serious business where robots are used, like Google’s Boston Dynamics and Intuitive Surgical
I just got to pilot an awesome (and huge) robot thanks to Hankook Mirae Technology. Nice! #MARS2017 pic.twitter.com/MvN6ghEYFi
