In his 2010 novella A Good Marriage, the king of horror Stephen King writes about a couple who have been married for 25 years. Things take a wicked turn when the wife, Darcy Anderson, discovers that her husband is a serial killer. The husband, Bob, admits past crimes but says since he got married, his murderous alter ego “Beadie” had receded. He begs her to forget about it. Darcy agrees but who could forgive and forget something like that?
Darcy is portrayed by Joan Allen. She’s known for her roles in the Bourne films (Pam Landy), Room (Nancy), The Notebook (Rachel McAdams’ mother Anne Hamilton), Pleasantville (Betty Parker), Face/Off (Dr. Eve Archer), The Ice Storm (Elena Hood), The Crucible (Elizabeth Proctor), and Nixon with Anthony Hopkins (Pat Nixon), among many others. Allen has been nominated for three Oscars including Best Actress in a Leading Role for The Contender. A Good Marriage premieres on LMN on Super Bowl Sunday at 8pm.
