Oakland Raiders fans are among the most loyal in the world. This is known because the loyalty has been tested over and over, from the team moving between Oakland and Los Angeles and back to the team just losing. And losing and losing. But the Raiders are back in the playoffs, baby, as the late owner Al Davis might say. And the fans are more than relieved — they’re thrilled.
Take rapper/TV star Ice Cube, passionate longtime fan. “We back — the Raiders is back,” Ice Cube said on CNN, of the team’s return to the playoffs. “All the clowning we had to endure over the last decade — that’s over.” The Raiders went 12-4 this season and play the Houston Texans (9-7) in a Wild Card matchup on Saturday at 4:35 EST. Raiders Nation will be tested again as Oakland is starting rookie QB Connor Cook because of a late season injury to starting QB Derek Carr.
