One reason why Cosmopolitan magazine has been able to keep the 51-year-old brand relevant is because it knows how to stay ahead of the curve(s). It is the biggest women's magazine in the world today, and boasts 14 million active followers on social media. The current editor-in-chief, Joanna Coles, knows how important all media is to building the Cosmo brand. She's even allowed cameras to follow her at work in the new reality TV show, So Cosmo.
Prior to joining Hearst (which owns Cosmopolitan and Marie Claire where Coles used to be editor-in-chief), Coles was the bureau chief for The Guardian and later The Times of London. She is married to author and journalist Peter Godwin who is currently President of PEN American Center. They have two children. When not at work or home, Coles sits on the board of directors at Snapchat. So Cosmo airs Tuesdays on 8pm on E!Most INTERESTING FINDS on Amazon]
