On the Growing Up Hip Hop Season 2 finale episode ‘Empire State of Mind,’ Romeo Miller has a heart-to-heart with his father Master P who’s been grooming his son to someday take over No Limit Records. After appearing in an episode of Lee Daniels’ TV series Empire (Romeo played Gram, the son of a record company owner), Romeo tells his dad “I’m feeling this tug of war with music and acting.” And then he admits, “I’m never going to be Master P.” That comment has his father muttering, “I really can’t believe it” and leaving the room.
Think Master P will come around? Growing Up Hip Hop airs Thursdays at 9pm on WE.

Words from my father that I’ll never forget when I told him I wanted to get into the family business: “My son, I’ve raised the bar so high and I’ve made it look so easy, that even my own family forgot that I was only human. Believe it or not, no matter your struggle, chasing your dreams will be the easy part. What comes after you reach your dreams will be the true test. Time will reveal all, even your friends. No one will ever ask you if you are ok, because you’ll always be the one smiling, you’ll always be the strong one, and you’ll always make it look easy. I was afraid to go to church because of my past when I was a kid, but I now know that God is the only reason I’m here today! Your faith is what makes you different Romeo and I know one day you will be the biggest star on this planet. Never change son. You look up to me and I look up to you.” – My King
