In an ACC football opener, the Louisville Cardinals will face the Syracuse Orange on Friday, September 9. Last time they met, the Cardinals stomped the Orange 41-17. The Cardinals will present trouble again for the Orange this year with Heisman hopeful sophomore quarterback Lamar Jackson. He'll test the Orange D in multiple ways.
Syracuse will also put its new coach to the test. Coach Dino Babers is making his conference debut at the Carrier Dome. The 55-year-old Hawaii native was formerly head coach at Bowling Green State University (2014-2015) and Eastern Illinois University (2012-2013). Babers has been an assistant coach at Arizona, Texas A&M, UCLA and Baylor, after playing running back and defensive back on the football team at the University of Hawaii at Manoa (1979–1983). Babers is married to his wife Susan; they are the parents of four daughters: Breeahnah, Tasha, Jazzmin
