The Lifetime TV movie Sister Cities, based on the play by Colette Freedman, is about four estranged sisters who are named after American cities and places -- Carolina, Baltimore, Dallas, and Austin. They reunite at their family home in New England after their mother (Jacki Weaver) kills herself. Young Austin was there the day she died. She was taking care of her mother before she drowned herself in the tub. Not all of the sisters are pleased with the way Austin handled things.
Austin Baxter is portrayed by Jess Weixler. She’s known for her role as Robyn Burdine on The Good Wife (the private investigator who replaced Kalinda). Weixler is also recognized for her roles in the films The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby (Katy Rigby) with Jessica Chastain (they went to Juilliard together), Apartment Troubles (Nicole), Listen Up Philip (Holly Kane), Best Man Down (Kristin), and Teeth (Dawn), among others. Sister Cities premieres on Lifetime on Saturday, September 17 at 8pm.
