Daniel Joyner is the 17-year-old singer from Alamo, Tennessee in the Bible Belt. The senior in high school sang Otis Redding's "Try A Little Tenderness" for his audition on America's Got Talent. Judge Heidi Klum said his performance was beautiful. Mel B agreed, "You do have a really good voice but you know what? I found you a little stiff. You put yourself in a bit of a box. You need to break out of that box. You have the chops to do that."
Judge Simon Cowell told Joyner: "Your voice is fantastic, I'm impressed but it's important that you have fun." Cowell advised Joyner: "You've got to get out of comfort zone." With that said, Cowell ended his critique on a positive note: "If I were Michael Buble, I'd want to run you over. America's Got Talent airs Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
