Mark “Oz” Geist was one of the Marines who survived the attack of the US Embassy in Benghazi, Libya in 2012. He has since retired but has become active in politics. Geist will be one of the speakers at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.
[Geist is a co-author of the book 13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi which inspired the Michael Bay film 13 Hours starring John Krasinki (Mark Martini played Geist in the film).]
Geist also recently starred in an NRA commercial titled “Stop Clinton, Vote Trump,” Filmed in a cemetery, Geist addresses Bernie Sanders supporters who claim they won’t vote this year because their candidate didn’t make it. “I know some other people who won’t be voting,” says Geist as the camera pans to a series of tombstones. “My friends [who didn’t survive Benghazi] didn’t make it but they did their part. Do yours,” says Geist.
