It's a gruesome world, this Westeros, so a little sense of humor is helpful. Especially on Reddit, where things can get pretty hot and not humorous at all. But it's also smart there on Reddit -- the combination of hive mind and savvy Reddit participants makes explorations of pop culture phenomena like Game of Thrones incisive, exciting, and seemingly comprehensive.
Season 6 is blowing people away -- and not just the people on screen. One theory that's catching some fire, so to speak, is the "Robert's Curse" notion that each of the Starks that the king touched in his Season 1 visit to Winterfell is dead, Rickon fulfilling the touch prophecy. Fans remember that Cersei Lannister was also touched by the King -- violently slapped. Does that qualify (and doom) her? Or is that regal slap a touch of a different order? In one of those levity-laden Reddit pile-ons, illtakeyourface says the slap means Cersei will be "extra dead." Terriblekaraoke responds with "Like three times the deadness." Comic relief, you know. There is none in Westeros.
