In the Person of Interest episode “SNAFU,” a glitch causes the Machine to give Reese (James Caviezel) and Fusco (Kevin Chapman) the numbers of people not involved in crimes. It also denies Finch (Michael Emerson) and Root (Amy Acker) after identifying them as threats. Along the way, the team runs into Mona.
Mona is portrayed by La Chanze. She’s best known for her roles on Broadway. LaChanze was nominated for a Tony Award for her lead role in Once on this Island, and won a Tony for Best Actress in a Musical for her role as Celie in The Color Purple. LaChanze is also recognized for her roles in the movie The Help (Rachel), and on TV on One Life to Live (Yvette Moreau), The Cosby Mysteries (Dr. Weeks), and The Cosby Show (Theo’s friend Sylvia). Or maybe you recognize her voice from the animated series and video game, Hercules (Terpsichore). Person of Interest airs Mondays at 10pm on CBS.
