Jeremy Lin has earned a reputation for kindness. The reluctant global superstar who is always on the cusp of NBA greatness sometimes even hears he’s too nice to succeed in the brutal world of pro sports. Lin’s numbers however, especially how often he penetrates and gets hammered in the lane, say differently. But Lin never complains — even during his long season in Los Angeles last year, he played the good soldier. Lin’s now headed into the playoffs as a big contributor in his first year with Charlotte, but that hasn’t stopped the nice guy in him from showing up and being an admirable human being.
So when Lin heard that a young woman had accidentally gotten his name — in Chinese — tattoed on her ankle (she was pranked), Lin responded with customary charm. He sharpied the same tat on his own ankle, and shared it with a smile. (see below video) The young woman, Holland Christensen, asked the Reddit community if anyone had a ticket to see Charlotte, so she could get a glimpse of the man on her ankle. Needless to say, she went to a game. Lin totaled 39 points in his last two regular season contests. A nice guy and a killer on offense when he gets it going. Charlotte will take on the Miami Heat in Round 1 of the NBA Playoffs beginning Sunday at 5:30 pm ET.
