The TV movie Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart chronicles the rollercoaster life of seven-time Grammy Award-winning singer Toni Braxton (Lex Scott Davis). It begins as Braxton gets her start in the business. She was discovered by L.A. Reid and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds who signed her to their La Face Records label. Braxton has referred to Babyface as her “musical husband.” They sang the hit “Give U My Heart” in 1992 and reunited for her 2014 duets album “Love, Marriage & Divorce.” As the album title suggests, Braxton has experienced a lot of personal challenges since 1992, most of which are depicted in the TV movie.
In the film, Babyface is portrayed by Gavin Houston. The 38-year-old actor from Brooklyn is best known for his roles on The Bay (Tony Foster), Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots (Jeffrey Harrington), and the daytime soap operas General Hospital (Sly Thomas), and Guiding Light (Remy Boudreau). Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart premieres on Lifetime on January 23 at 8pm. It will air again on January 24 at 12am and 9pm, and January 25 at 1am.
