In The X-Files episode “Founder's Mutation,” FBI agents Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) investigate a scientist’s suspicious suicide. He stabbed himself to death by plunging a knife into his head. During their investigation, they meet a young man named Kyle who works as a janitor at a laboratory “where extreme genetic experimentation has bred subjects possessing dangerous powers.”
Kyle is portrayed by Jonathan Whitesell. The young actor just launched his career in 2015. So far he’s appeared in the TV horror movie The Hollow (Alex), and in episodes of iZombie (Chad Wolcoff), Detective McLean: Ties That Bind (Michael Gibbons), and Proof (Charlie Maynard). You can see him next on Once Upon a Time as Hercules (in the March 16 episode “Labor of Love”) and the family film A.R.C.H.I.E., which is about a teenage girl and a dog named Archie voiced by Michael J. Fox. The X-Files airs Mondays at 8pm on FOX.
