In the Chicago Med episode “Bound,” Dr. Rhodes’ (Colin Donnell) dubious father Cornelius (D.W. Moffett) is honored for making a large donation to the hospital which forces Rhodes to face some pretty dark family secrets. Meanwhile, on another family front, Dr. Sarah Reese (Rachel DiPillo) must step up to the plate when Dr. Natalie “Nat” Manning (Torrey DeVitto) goes into labor. Nat’s mother Helen comes to her daughter’s bedside.
Helen Manning is portrayed by Annie Potts. She’s best known for her TV roles on The Fosters (Sharon Elkin), GCB (Gigi Stopper), Law & Order: SVU (Sophie Devere), Men in Trees (Mary Alice O’Donnell), Any Day Now (M.E. Sims), Dangerous Minds (Louanne Johnson), and Designing Women (Mary Jo Shively). Potts is also well recognized for her roles in the Ghostbusters films (Janine Melnitz) and the Toy Story movies (the voice of Bo Peep), among several others. Chicago Med airs Tuesdays at 9pm on NBC.
