Converse is selling a collection of Chuck Taylor sneakers designed with graphics related to the punk-road band the Sex Pistols. Images include the iconic UK flag, a screen print of the Queen, and the Boredom bus which was used to promote the Sex Pistols’ 1977 single Pretty Vacant. Each of the six designs includes the band’s typographical logo on the tongue of the shoe and in the footbed.
The Chuck Taylor All Star Sex Pistols collection is available at all 75 Converse retail stores from $65 to $80 in the US. A handful of Sex Pistols t-shirts and a black bomber jacket ($140) is also available. Converse would be smart to partner with the forthcoming CBGB LAB restaurant opening at Newark Airport. All hail nostalgia. Note: Converse is a subsidiary of Nike, Inc.
