Chapul Cricket Bars are energy bars made with protein-rich cricket flour. Crickets are high in iron – there’s 15% more iron in a cricket than a serving of spinach! Plus, crickets need just 8% of the feed and water that cows need to make the same amount of protein. The entrepreneur behind Chapul Cricket Bars, Pat Crowley from Salt Lake City, pitched his product on Shark Tank during Season 5 and got an investment from Mark Cuban. Shark Tank checks in with the company on a new episode (January 29).
Cricket Bars are available in four flavors: Aztec (dark chocolate, coffee and cayenne), Chaco (peanut butter and chocolate), Matcha (matcha tea, goji, nori), and Thai (coconut, ginger and lime). A 12-pack sampler (3 of each flavor) is sold for $34. Note: Cuban's favorite is the spicy Aztec (as he mentions in the video below).
